This past Christmas (time) we had a discussion about how our whole family was going to move around in the coming year. Some of the siblings made predictions about where everyone would be next Christmas. Out of 10 people, the only person we were fairly certain about was Asael. He's in school and we think he'll still be there (very typical of our family--the only stable person is the one in school). Some others seem fairly decent bets that they'll still be there, but you never know (especially at Christmas when some crazy talk was going on).
Anyway, the great shifting has begun. Happily in the form of lots of good news.
Last month Nancy got engaged! She and Brent are getting married in June, in the Denver temple (that's their temple). And then they'll most likely be moving--not too far, but at least to another city.
Last night Benson opened his mission call and he has been called to serve a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, assigned to the Portugal Lisbon mission. He leaves in August (his birthday is in July). Exciting! Except for my study abroad in Spain, none of our family has been to Europe, so that's an exciting little part. Most exciting is the privilege he has to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and serve God's children. He is SO prepared in many ways and I'm happy for him.
Also, a little tidbit. Hyrum would have been returning from his mission next week (18 or 19), but he was given permission to extend for a month, so he'll be coming home in May. As excited as I am to see him, a part of my heart is sad that it's ending. He has been a most enthusiastic missionary and his letters/emails have brought true joy to our family over the past two years. We were all excited that he got that extra month. :)
Oh, and how could I forget? Well, because they never told me, that's why (good thing other people did). Whitney & Laura packed up their covered wagon (just like in Little House on the Prairie, which I'm reading with my student) and left Tennessee. Last I heard they were supposed to be going to visit/look for jobs in Washington with Ro&S.
Yep, the great migration is well under way. And life is very good for our family right now.

Portugal! That is exciting. I was just thinking as I read that- that I didn't think any of your family has served in Europe.
I'm so happy for everyone! All of the news is so wonderful!
I'm glad I still follow your blog and hear updates about your family from time-to-time. It makes me happy.
