Dark December Doom: Not this year!

December is not my favorite month of the year.  It is so stinking DARK!  Yes, Christmas attempts to help out the mood.  But it's still not my favorite.

But this year, I don't have time to register that it's December, much less to worry about darkness.  It's a fabulous December.

I spent the first week of it (plus some days of November) in Panama.  Where it is sunny, hot, happy and full of love for me (my parents are there, in case you've forgotten).  Maybe you'll get to see more of that.

Then I'm crazily fitting in a week of work, reports of my trip (I have so many kind friends here!), visits to two wards in the stake, and a million to-dos and errands and visits and whatnots (and no, none of them have anything to do with Christmas).  Oh, and a couple Christmas parties (while I haven't even wrapped my head around the idea that it is Christmas time).

And then Hyrum comes to town (so much better than Santa--especially since I'm hoping he'll cook dinners and have them ready when I get home from work). [It's his birthday today!  Happy Birthday, Hippo Hyrum!]  I have all sorts of fun things waiting for this long-anticipated trip!!  Including a few fun days in Boston, where we'll pick up Rachel.

And then a Noche Buena party.  And Ryan (fiance) will fly in with Santa.  And more New England fun.  And lots of bodies in my not-so-little apartment.  And it will all be grand.  (In total, 3 weeks of one or another or another person visiting.)

And by the time everyone leaves we'll be safely through December.   And the days will slowly be getting longer.  And January will be full of travel.  And I will survive another winter! (okay, that won't be completed for a few more months, but there will be more sunshine each day, and that's what is most important).

Happy times.
