And it keeps on going

Pat Wrigley must have fallen off that silly cliff about 5,000 times now. He's the deceased in my trial. Last night was the quarter final round. I didn't feel particularly good about it. I was more awake (and my new, no-nonsense nylons stayed on) but didn't do as good of a job as last round, I thought. Plus the semi-finals were on Thursday night - after I'll have left town. I thought.
But this morning there's a cheery little email saying, I've made it to the semi-finals and it's tonight (Wed.) at 6:00. I don't have time for this. I have a tech edit to do and laundry and packing to do before I leave town. Plus a R.S. presidency meeting. But do I say no? No, of course not. Two reasons, actually let's make that three: 1. Pride. I want to see if I can keep going. Bad me. 2. I want to try it again. I felt so good last week and didn't last night and I'd like to fix that. 3. Maybe I'll collect more amusing stories. :) 4. (I know I can't count) I doubt I'll ever be a trial lawyer in my life so this is a fun, one and only chance.

The trial went well. My partner was in it for himself, which was so different than the other rounds. But I felt like I did a good job and I was really grateful to end on a good note.
3 of the 4 finalists were people I went against in the semi or quarter finals. And the two winners were both guys who were defendants against us. I trained them well! :)
