June News

No, folks, I am not dead.  I am not sick.  I'm actually just fine.  Quite good in fact.  Living life.  Just not taking time to blog, because I'm so behind in so many other areas of life.  A few days ago I thought of several good things to say about June, but I don't remember them.  Maybe I'll try again.

* Best thing that happened in June--my parents came to visit!!!   It was wonderful.  I could put a bunch of pictures and tell a bunch of stories.  But I won't. You can just imagine.   They also brought a lot of my things--very nice to have them, even if they're in boxes and accessing them requires a fair amount of digging.

* Next best thing that happened in June--Chelsea came to live with me for a month.  I can't believe there's nothing about her here, but that's what happens when you lose contact.  Anyway, she's a lovely lady from Montana who came to study at a floral design program for a month.  And she was a wonderful roommate and friend.  It was amazing how much my life was enriched by having her here.  I miss her already!!!

Other things:
* Finally began the house-sitting part of staying here.  It's fun to have my "own" place (though Chelsea and now Will have been here too).  Especially fun when my own place is huge and delightful--great to have many people over and do lots of fun things.

* Lots of thinking about studying for the bar.  Some bar study.  I'm tired of the guilt and worry so starting yesterday I'm really studying at least 4 hours every single day (like I'm doing right now).  A lot is coming back, but it's still really, really, really hard to be motivated to do this again.   [this is probably the main most reason why I haven't blogged, because I haven't studied.]

* Big storm caused tree to fall over which smashed nice Prius that was parked in the driveway.  Other fallen trees and cool effects from storm.

* My garden is growing!  I have a baby tomato.  I think it'll really be "on" about the time that I move out of here.

* Classes are going well.  We're just over half-way done with the term. I can see my students' progression and that is really exciting!

* Still in love with the fact that I live within walking distance of the temple.  It's so beautiful and wonderful and I feel SO blessed to be close to it.

* Because of Chelsea, enjoyed fresh flower arrangements every day.  The house was full of them.  Heavenly.

* Dinner parties

* Elder Nelson came and gave a great fireside

* For one of my classes, I'm not only their teacher but their academic adviser--it's a little bit of a dream come true

* Gorgeous weather.  I believe I like living in the North--at least during the summer.

* Doing some preliminary family history research and already learning lots of cool things about my ancestors.  I thought I was pretty knowledgable about them--not so.  I may have more to say about this, because I've been quite surprised by some of the things I've learned.

* Public school ended, no more subbing for awhile

* Beautiful Cambridge Stake Center dedicated; our new home for Sunday meetings.

* Two--2-that's right, TWO of my clients' cases were approved.  This is huge news.  And so exciting.  Exiting for them.  Exciting for me.  Thrilling.  One of them I started working on in June a year ago.  The other I started in September.  I wish I could tell you in detail about them, but suffice it to say that their life has changed dramatically because of this  (in some ways, I feel like the only time I've more directly changed a life was through sharing the gospel with people who had never heard it).  Awesomeness!

* Other stuff I can't remember right now.

Finally, last but not least (in fact, it should be up there with Mother&Father and Chelsea), in a chain of events I have reached the point where I feel like I belong here in Massachusetts, where I feel like I belong where I am in my life right now.  I've been given a sense of peace and contentment that I have not felt for a very, very long time (at least a couple of years).  And it feels SO good.  And I am SO grateful.    And I'm thankful for prayers, temple, friends, family, blessings, scriptures, living apostles and prophets and the Conference Ensign, nature, and the knowledge that time is counted by men--but is only a tool for achieving the great things Heavenly Father has in store for us.

Life is good.

Yay! the new stake center!!! I was so excited for that to happen, although the boiler room chapel was pretty awesome for the Cambridge wards. At least the church doesn't have to rent it anymore. ^_^ It's great to hear you are doing so well, good luck with the studying!

Good to hear how life is treating you. I talked to your father the other day and he told me about their trip to see you. We had Rachel out for a couple of days. She worked hard at weeding the garden. Let me know what you are finding about family history. Keep up the good work. Aunt Jolene

Sure love you and your positive outlook on life. Heavenly Father knows YOU and love you too. I know I don't need to tell you that but I just wanted to. It was good to see some of your siblings at Leslie's wedding. They are all special to me.
Love Aunt Tamara
