So much excitement that I can't handle it all.
This morning (well, technically yesterday morning since it's now 1:30 am) I exchanged some texts with Nancy that went something like this:
Are you Excited?
mmhmm
Me too. In fact I'm so excited about so many things that I don't know where to focus it.
And that about sums it all up. So, here's a quick snapshot of Why.
Most importantly (and most newly):
Last night (Thursday) my parents got their mission call!!!!
They've been called to serve as missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and are assigned to the Panama, Panama City mission. Currently (subject to change by their mission president), they are principally assigned to serve in the PEF Center, assisting with the Perpetual Education Fund. They report to the MTC on August 6 (their availability date--43 days away).
Wow!! Yep, it's all true. I actually haven't talked to my mother since then, but I've talked to my father 3 or 4 times now and he's so excited, like a little boy. It's really cute. I alternate between excited (for all of it, including the fact that they get to go to a Spanish-speaking country, which I know they're thrilled about) and trying not to think about how incredibly long 2 years is. (Oh yes, they're going 2 years. It's an option now and they opted for it.)
Also causing excitement:
Nancy gets married in a week! Baby Nancy is getting married. In the temple. :) AND I get to see my whole entire family. Woohoo!!
I'm in the middle of starting my own law practice. (More about this coming in a blog post soon.) I think I found a fabulous office. Maybe not perfect, because it would be hard for something to be perfect, but I'm amazed at how very nicely it meets criteria.
I'm right now on the bus to NYC. All set for new adventures.
And, this seems kind of silly, compared to the bigness of all the other things, but truthfully I'm super excited about it, enough to keep me from being able to sleep (just like the others). I made super cute dresses for me and Rachel, to wear at the wedding next week. (They don't match each other, they're just both cute.) I used patterns, but also did a fair amount of altering and tweaking on my own--which makes me so happy to know that I can do that. And they're cute (did I mention?) and I can't wait for us to get to wear them!! (Especially for the moment of truth when we find out if my across the country altering will fit Rachel.)
So, there you have it, enough excitement I can't sleep even when I need to. :)
p.s. It hasn't been quite as uppermost lately, but another great thing right now is my awesome garden, which is making great progress.

And your own law practice - amazing!
Yay! Yay! Yay! I'm thrilled about it all. I will try to call you soon!
So fun! I got excited just reading. I can't wait to read/see all about it. And I will be excited to hear about your adventures with your practice; I am already terrified for when I'll need to even apply for a job, so you are my hero =)
This is incredibly exciting!!!
