1. I live in front/behind (depends on your point of view) a lovely New England church. On Sundays its bells ring. I love it!
2. In between me and the church is an elementary school playground. I've spent a lot of time at my glass back doors watching the children play. It's highly entertaining for me.
3. My hair no longer looks like a boy (ok, it never really did, but it was kind of pushing it). It's now a shaggy-beast mess. And a royal pain. But since I can't decide what to do about it that's just how it is.
4. I prepared names for the temple!!! A first--and long, long desired dream--for me. Rachel and Asael are going to help me out on the temple end. And I love family history research--it's fun and it uses tons of skills that I have. Who knew how well I was being prepared for this?
5. I've had several ward members to dinner and co-workers to dinner/game nights over the past few weeks. It's been so fun.
6. I have health insurance for the first time in several years.
7. I ride my bike to work. I ride my bike home from work. I come home from work at around 1:30 am. People worry about me. People, stop worrying. I may not be married, but the fact remains that I am a very competent adult. I also get lots of rides from people--a huge blessing (but sometimes makes me feel like I am not a competent adult--hence, I usually prefer to ride my bike).
8. Last Sunday two (not one, but TWO) friends came to hear me speak in church last Sunday. Happy day.
9. I have learned to knit! A friend in Boston taught me in my last weeks there (she is an excellent teacher; I was impressed) and I went to work after I moved here and I can now comfortably say I knit. It's really exciting. :) I started crocheting when I was 6, but have never managed to knit. Hopefully you'll see a picture of my first, beautiful project.
10. I am exercising almost every day. Weights for the arms (baby weights, but I have no arm strength so need to start somewhere), pilates (weights and pilates alternating days), and cardio (bike or walk) to work every day (and home, if I bike; if I walk I get a ride home).
Not a random tidbit. A big, happy, wonderful thing:
I AM SO HAPPY these days. :)
