(side note: it's amazing how much more I feel like blogging when I'm on my big laptop. I should get on this thing more often! If only it weren't so old...)
Several weeks ago now I had this fabulous epiphany:
I am an ADULT!
I real, regular adult. I'm no longer a young adult. I'm not yet a middle-aged adult. I'm definitely not a senior adult or an elderly adult or whatever the stages are from there.
I'm just an adult. And it's a pretty awesome place to be. I like it a lot!!
I was telling my parents about this sometime after having my great realization and we came to this hypothesis: most people don't sit around thinking about being a regular adult (which is why they don't talk about it that much) because it's the decade of most people's lives when their lives are revolving around their children. But mine isn't and so I get to spend lovely contemplative moments (while I run fun errands) thinking about how I love being an adult.

Not too long ago, someone mentioned something about "Young Adults" at church, and I suddenly realized, "Hey, I'm not in that category anymore! That is crazy." Then I got distracted by my kids =). In fact, I need to go put them to bed now, so this is about the extent of my additional contemplation of being an adult. Thanks for the reminder that this is a great time! I need to enjoy it.
I had this VERY SAME realization at grad school the other day (apparently "young adult" is 13-30, not in that category anymore!)
