Right now my house smells like fresh Christmas tree and Middle Eastern chicken stew (with couscous, spices, raisins, and more). The two don't go together at all, but they both make me so happy. Because they smell good. Because they remind me of how incredibly blessed I am. Blessed in dozens of ways, big and small.
Like just about every day, I'm delighted with my home. A year ago this week I was house shopping hard core. I met my true love (house version) on Saturday. I really love it so much and I feel so happy and grateful when I walk though my door.
I went to the library this evening. I love libraries! And I got Christmas songbooks. That I'll use to carol with at my piano. Do I really need to say that I can hardly contain the happiness of having my very own piano?
This afternoon I went and visited my former life. Being there felt so natural. But life had actually moved on. A month ago I started a new job. Very abruptly. A door opened that I thought had closed and whoosh, I walked through it. I had no idea how different everything would be. So, so changed. Good change. I miss some things and I miss people. But I am very happy where I am now. Not just with the job, but with a lot that came at the same time. Perhaps I'll elaborate more later, but suffice it to say that I've made some good, important progress for my life.
And I could go on. But I'll wrap this up. I am happy. Very, very content. And I am thankful.

This makes me so happy; can't wait to hear more! And I wouldn't have thought to check out songbooks at the library. On my to-do list now!
Hi Ruth!
So glad you still have this blog. You have been on my mind lately, and I didn't know how to find you.
I was so excited to see you still have this. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Meg, the problem with checking out songbooks is someone else probably beat you to the good ones (they did me). For holiday ones. I was happy to still get some!
TRISHA!!! I'm so happy to know you're out there. I didn't know how to find you. Blog gone, etc. I'm also on Facebook. If you're on there and send a friend request, if you're really lucky I'll add you. :)
