Just some news

So, I often thing of thinks I'd like to blog about but, surprisingly, I'm usually too busy to do such things. Probably just because I have bigger priorities. Like talking to my family, most of whom do not read my blog so I can't use it as a cop out communication method (which is why I started it. sigh)

And tonight I am WAY too exhausted to write interesting posts, so I'm just going to put up some random news items from my life. In no particular order (not chronological or by importance or anything else).

1. R&S had their baby on Tuesday. Hooray!! Vivian Ch. 8 lbs. 2 oz., 20" Cute in the pictures. Hopefully I'll meet her someday. I've been nearby for "all" the other nieces, so it's kind of sad not to be around.

2. Spring is springing here. Starting when I arrived buds began forming, they kept getting interrupted with rain and floods, but now they're opening. It's quite beautiful. The vegetation includes a random combination of NC things (from the humid climate) and UT things (from it being a colder region) and some of its own that I don't really know. But I like.

3. I've been working quite a bit lately. Subbing at elementary schools--which I like SO much. I really do enjoy teaching and the children are fun. And minimal responsibility for the students is good. And then this week I'm giving a million hours and 10 years of physical wear and tear of my life and working as staff at a convention. Which, I realized yesterday, as I smiled through the agony of 12 hours on my feet on hard, marble-ish floors, that I really enjoyed. It's wearing, no doubt, but I love customer service and helping people and watching things work and a lot more that I could write about coherently if I had gotten a little more sleep and a little less standing. (I'm posting now because I'm making myself wait until 8 to go to bed.) Today, tomorrow and Saturday I'm up at 4. I have to get up that early because the bus doesn't run early enough, so I have to walk 2 miles to the train, catch the first train in, and get there just in time. It's good to be working. And honestly, good to be doing things I enjoy.

4. On Tuesday I started volunteering at a legal clinic hosted by a non-profit legal organization in Boston. I was a little nervous, because there's so much I don't know (and I especially feel that with so much time not doing anything). But, I was able to answer all my people's questions, easily. I knew the stuff without even having to look up or ask. Hooray for knowing things. It helps that I focus on helping the Spanish speaking folk, so I get the same kinds of cases I've done in the past.

5. I have a place to live from now until mid-August. Involves house-sitting(a few times this spring and then during the summer) and is rent free.

6. I've decided for sure to take the MA bar. So, when the housing worked out a couple of days later I felt very blessed, because it will enable me to not have to work 60 hours a week so now I can have time to study. (yes, that is a very run-on sentence. Not that I don't do them often, but we can blame it on the exhaustion anyway.)

7. I like people. At the convention (ophthalmologist convention--people are very nice), on the bus, on the train, on the street, where ever I find them.

8. General Conference was great. It answered a lot of prayers for me and between Friday night's temple trip and Sat/Sun conference my life has taken a definite turn for the better. Won't even delve into that, just trust me on it.

9. On Tuesday, I completed one month in Boston. One of those, so long? so short? marks.

10. It's past 8. I can go to bed.

Wow Ruth, you sound busy. I like hearing what's going on :-) I hear you with the family not checking the blog thing. It certainly makes me less likely to blog.
