I just finished watching the presidential inauguration and have these few thoughts:
1. I am so grateful to be an American. As was mentioned several times during the inauguration, it is truly a remarkable country where transfers of power occur so peacefully. What a wonderful country to live in!
2. I'm grateful that our country still has a semblance of being a God-fearing country. I grant that many of the references to God/the prayers/etc. are much more pageantry and less reality than 200 years ago. BUT at least they're still there! And I'm grateful for that.
3. I loved watching the people in the audience. They are beautiful. We are beautiful!
4. I really enjoy good music and good rhetoric.
5. Random, but, one of my main thoughts: I envy that beautiful green grass in Washington. It may be winter green. But still, you can see it. Sigh.
