#5 About taking care of my body

Originally this goals was 5. Lose 15 pounds. As the time went along I realized that that probably wasn't going to happen, unless I got sick (which I'd been trying hard to have not happen). So I made it 5. Run a 5k. And finally, I look back and feel very good about my increase in healthy habits, however the specific goal went.

I did lose 7 pounds, so that that's better than nothing.

And I exercise quite regularly. During September and most of October I tried a variety of different things. My favorite was kick boxing, followed closely by morning dance parties. Eventually I decided I needed to do something different, and that's when I decided to run a 5k. Only, then I lost my job and decided paying for a 5k wasn't such a great idea.

But I ran anyway. In November I ran an average of 2 miles a day. I conquered the huge hill by my house, in a loop that was 3.35 miles (over 5k). On Thanksgiving day I ran 4 miles (the furthest I've run since a young teenager). That was kind of my pinnacle for the month, but I've continued on this month as well.

It's amazing how great physical exercise feels! And it's so wonderful to have time to do it. November's goal (avg. 2 miles/day) came when I got laid off and during those first few weeks it was so great to have a good solid goal to work toward, that I could control.

Anyway, I realize probably no one is still reading, because you really don't care that much. But just wanted to document what happened with goal #5.
