"As you reach out to your Heavenly Father, as you pray to Him in the name of Christ, He will answer you. He speaks to us everywhere. . . . If you listen for the voice of the Father, He will lead you on a course that will allow you to experience the pure love of Christ."
- President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Ways I've heard the Father's voice this morning:
* In the scriptures. As I read of the strong relationships of trust and love between warriors fighting in a common cause; as I read of Moses' experience with seeing God and learning to discern truth.
* In prayer. As I felt the joy of knowing my Heavenly Father listens and cares about what I'm saying; as I felt assured that He would answer me.
* In running. As I felt felt the rhythms of my body and enjoyed its health and strength, a body truly created in the image of His Only Begotten Son.
* In receiving promptings. As I felt gentle, very subtle impressions to do something other than planned; as I was aware that Heavenly Father communicates with me as often as I'm willing to listen.
* In the bounties and beauties of nature. As I heard birds sing; as I soaked up sunshine; as I watched a beautiful large buck bouncing through the woods.
* In listening to the words spoken by a servant of God. As I listened to President Uchtdorf's talk, part of it quoted above, I realized that already in one morning I had heard Heavenly Father's voice many times.
Read it and you'll feel a greater measure of Heavenly Father's love, too.
Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinite amount—that is the measure of God’s love for you.
We are important to God not because of our résumé but because we are His children.
As we draw near to Heavenly Father, we become more holy. And as we become more holy, we will overcome disbelief and our souls will be filled with His blessed light.
