Feeling lucky? With a nice Celtics shamrock.
just use your imagination
Anyway, you may or may not know that I'm not a big fan of professional sports. I don't know where most of the teams are, I never watch them and I just feel apathy for them. Most of the time. The only time I don't feel apathy is when I feel disgust thinking about professional sports team and the many things that means. But, it's not a big issue to me and I usually just don't care one way or the other.
The one and only time I have ever watched a professional sports team playoff was 2 years ago. I was in Charlotte and staying with the Beachums during the month of May. Because I wanted to spend time with them, I ended up watching quite a bit of t.v.--including the NBA playoffs. I'm not sure what inspired me to cheer for the Celtics then. Maybe because they played the Cavaliers and then the Lakers? Or that they hadn't won a championship in a really lot of years, so they seemed an underdog? Probably one of those. But also, as I learned about them, I actually liked them for them--a team that was based on being a team--not a soloist with some back up players. Anyway, I decided to like them and guess what, they won!
I now find it kind of ironic that I cheered for a team from a city that I barely knew anything about (except for its historical context) and now I live in that city. So, this time around there's a lot more reason for cheering for them and guess what? They're doing great again. I'm enjoying the playoffs. (Who'dathunk?)
I feel lucky!
This is my 200th post. Maybe I should have written about something more significant. But I didn't.
