I am not planning on writing a post every 12 hours for very much longer (just this week), but I thought you'd like to know that today--as if in response to my quiz--I got offered a job. A real job. Temporary, but real. Scary job--there is a lot to learn in a very short time. I might never post on here again because it's going to be full time work until I get a hang of it.
I'm going to be teaching two writing classes at Northeastern University in Boston. The students are international students preparing for graduate programs in the US. Supposedly they know English, but need a little extra work to be up to par in an American graduate program. I'll be teaching Writing for Graduate School and a Capstone Project class.
By the way, this is not a job I applied for. I applied for another position in the same department but they offered me these classes instead (harder classes, better pay). Found the original on craigslist. And for now I'll be teaching summer term; classes start on Tuesday (they were anxious to get my answer today, now I'm anxious to get materials soon) and go through first part of August. Which is good timing for me--nice, real job but no long term commitment while I'm studying for the bar and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life.
Happy May 6!

Hooray for You-that is awesome! That multiple choice test is no joke- tell your kids to watch out!
(Kids used lightly of course- I still think I'm a kid. Ha)
This is right up your alley! You're a great teacher and extremely patient! CONGRATS!!!
Congratulations and good luck! Can't wait to hear about it (even if it's after August).
Wow! Seriously? Talk about a fast turnaround. Hurray! You will be great at it.
Congrats on your job! It sounds perfect, the timing and everything.
