Living on Easy Street
Well, I moved again this week. I've been staying with my former roommate Pam in Springdale. I love being at her home, but I did not love driving over an hour every day for work (that's round trip). Especially at certain times, like when I slept through my alarm and the secretary called to tell me a client was waiting for me. i was out of bed and in my car in 12 minutes, but it was still a 30+ minute drive. Sigh. Anyway, I've been looking for a place to stay in Rogers, where I work. Lila, a co-worker, had volunteered to have me at her house since day 1, but I'd resisted that for a few different reasons. Anyway, one of the days I was praying about what to do I felt I should ask her if she really meant it and check it out. Long story short I moved up here on Friday. Exactly 3 miles to work; 5 to 10 mintues depending on traffic. 1.4 miles to church. I have my own area and just join in with family fun when I want. Lila has a husband (who I never see) and a cute 5 year old, Clarissa, who talks, talks, talks and is learning letters and numbers. And she has awesome hair that looks like mine (only black)--it curls and fros with the rain. :) It's been fun to be here. And Easy Street (really) is in a neighborhood that reminds me of my California days (specifically Bakersfield). New suburb type housing, almost all the families Hispanic or Indian. I went running last night (Friday) and got to observe the demographics. Lila says there's one street of white people too. Nice little neighborhood. I just wish I had my bike to ride to work and back.
