I've done some serious soul searching and wrote a description of the perfect place where I'd like to live. Then, I got a few lists of towns that had at least one of my criteria. Matched towns that appeared on the lists and then also used my atlas, internet and general knowledge to narrow down a few more towns. Finally, I made a list of approximately 20 towns/cities that I could consider living in. These, I mailed to a bunch of friends/family--mostly people connected to those areas, but also some just generally smart people that I thought might have great information. This is around the time that I decided I felt kind of like the people who select an Olympic Site (or any other tournament/conference/etc.).
Having me live in your town is kind of like hosting the Olympics: it will bring new visitors, develop much good will in and towards the area, and generally make the place a better place to live. And I'm much less expensive to support than the Olympics.
Anyhow, from the list I sent out, plus other suggestions, I've narrowed down my job search to 5 areas. Which could quite possibly change. But for now, this is where I'm looking:
Bowling Green, KY
Austin, TX
Tri-cities area, WA
Georgia
Milwaukee, WI

So, if any of you know anyone in these places. Or know of anyone who knows of anyone in these places. Or in any other way has a contact to these places. PLEASE pass along information. If you are a lurker and you know about one of these places--now would be an excellent time to come forward.
If you have any other comments or suggestions, I welcome them.
Well, that's about it for the present. Looking for cities was empowering. Exciting. Wonderful. Now, I'm back to battling to have faith conquer the fear I feel as I look forward. In addition to any suggestions or comments, I am also soliciting prayers at this time (or continued prayers, from the many who are already praying). Thank you!
